The Gilmore Car Museum is home to more than cars.

The Gilmore Car Museum is home to more than cars. There is an entire building dedicated to the history and social impact of motorcycles in the United States. The Gilmore Vintage Motorcycle Museum has been a feature of the Gilmore Car Museum campus for over two decades and is a great place to learn about early American motorcycle manufacturing and the evolution of Motorcycle design. From the rarest single-cylinder motorcycles of the early twentieth century to the sports bikes of today, the museum will have something for everyone.

While the exhibits are constantly changing, you will typically find early American motorcycles, mid-century Japanese and European motorcycles, a display of vintage motors, and a recreated 1960s Triumph motorcycle garage.

After a recent renovation, the museum is now more accessible to the public and feature’s view of each bike from all angles. It also allows the guests to take in the beauty of motorcycles as they are displayed on platforms, surrounded by historical graphics and artifacts. Our current exhibit s about Indian and features a rare 1913 Indian Twin, a 1940 440 Indian four, a hillclimber, and a model O engine that was repurposed as a generator.
