Gilmore Car Museum Appoints New Executive Director
We are pleased to announce that Josh Russell has been appointed by the Board of Directors of Gilmore Car Museum as Executive Director, effective November 1, 2020. In this role, Josh will be the Chief Executive Officer of the museum reporting to the Board.
Josh joined Gilmore Car Museum earlier this year as Sr. Director of Marketing & Development. In this role, he leads the museum’s marketing and development efforts, including sponsorships, fund raising, memberships and capital campaigns.
Prior to joining Gilmore, Josh served as Executive Vice President & Creative Director for PROtential, a leading North American business consultancy and marketing agency, with specialized expertise in sports, entertainment, promotions, events, and lifestyle marketing. He’s developed sponsorships, ad campaigns, and activation programs for clients across NASCAR, IndyCar, NHRA Drag Racing, NFL Football, MLS Soccer, and more. Earlier in his career, Josh ran marketing and motorsports for companies whose brands include PEAK Antifreeze, Raybestos Brakes, and SPICER Chassis Parts.
Russell lives in Three Rivers, Michigan, is a graduate of Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and of Mendon High School in Mendon, MI. He met his wife Amy in college, and they have two children – daughter Ava is a sophomore at Michigan State University, and son Garrett is a sophomore in high school. He’s a lifelong car enthusiast, DIYer, vintage boat owner, and amateur racer.
Jeff Romig will continue as museum President through December, to provide for a smooth leadership transition. Going forward, Jeff will continue as Secretary of the Board of Directors, Chair of the Advisory Committee and will remain active in other volunteer opportunities at the museum.
