Winter Workshop Series: 1941 Ford "Chop a Top" with Mike Boerema from Gas Axe Garage (3-Day Class)
Gilmore Winter Workshop class with special guest instructor Mike Boerema from Gas Axe Garage (St. Johns, MI), nationally-acclaimed custom car and hot rod builder. This hands-on class will take students through process of planning, chopping, and welding back together the roof and pillars on a customized 1941 Ford.
The Gilmore Winter Workshop series provides one-day tech education classes for beginners, hobbyists, enthusiasts on a variety of topics across auto repair, restoration, and hotrodding, including content on tools, techniques, materials, pro tips, tricks and demonstrations.
Each Winter Workshop class runs Saturday morning from 9:00am – 2:00pm in the Gilmore Garage Works building, lunch will be brought in from the museum café at 12:00pm (wraps, chips, sodas), then students can tour the museum and galleries from 2:00pm – 5:00pm.
Capacity is limited – maximum 25 students per class. We have spots for 20 Adult students, and 5 Teen students. Adult tickets must be purchased and Teen students registered in advance – no walk-ups permitted.

Tickets to a Winter Workshop class gets you into all areas of the museum as well as the class itself.

No. Much like going to a professional sporting event, you cannot get a refund because you can no longer make it. Guests are in charge of finding a person to purchase that ticket or giving it to someone else to use.
Tickets are non-refundable, but are transferable between persons.

Smoking is prohibited inside any buildings. The designated smoking area is outside while at least 25 feet away from buildings.

Yes. Pets are allowed outside on museum grounds. Pets are not permitted in any building or gallery. All pets must be on a leash at all times and owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pet.
