This March, Gilmore Car Museum is raising the hoods on all vehicles, giving visitors an exclusive look at the engines that power classic and vintage cars. From 1960s big-block muscle engines to inline fours, vintage V8s, and early air-cooled engines, car enthusiasts will have the chance to admire and explore these mechanical masterpieces up close.

As part of your regular admission, guests can experience the excitement of seeing engines in action. Each display offers a unique opportunity to learn about the history and design of these iconic engines.
Horsepower Engine Tours
For an even deeper dive, don’t miss our Horsepower Engine Tours on select dates. These guided tours take you through specific exhibits showcasing the evolution of engines within renowned car brands. Perfect for gearheads and history buffs, these tours provide a comprehensive understanding of automotive engineering and the key innovations that have shaped the industry.
Tour Schedule
- Wednesday, March 5: AMC Performance
- Saturday, March 8: MOPAR and Pontiac Performance
- Wednesday, March 12: Chevrolet and Pontiac Performance
- Saturday, March 15: Ford and Shelby Performance
Horsepower Engine Tours start by the entrance to the main gallery at 1pm and are over before 3pm.

No. Much like going to a professional sporting event, you cannot get a refund because you can no longer make it. Guests are in charge of finding a person to purchase that ticket or giving it to someone else to use.
Tickets are non-refundable, but are transferable between persons.

Yes. Pets are allowed outside on museum grounds. Pets are not permitted in any building or gallery. All pets must be on a leash at all times and owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pet.
