The long anticipated Lincoln Motorcar Heritage Museum, built on the campus of the Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners, Michigan, is set to open to the public on Saturday August 9th with an official dedication ceremony scheduled for 5pm.
Celebrating its 34th year, the RED BARNS SPECTACULAR has been sponsored continuously by the Kalamazoo Antique Auto Restorers Club and the Gilmore Car Museum since it began in 1980. Among the over 1,200 show cars, this year’s highlights will include a Ford Mustang Corral, station wagons as the featured auto, vintage military vehicles, old time campers, classic boats and a parade of very rare “High Wheeler” automobiles that are over 100 years old and much more.
The Gilmore Car Museum, along with the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, Air Zoo, Binder Park Zoo, Kalamazoo Nature Center, will host a press conference to make a major announcement this Thursday at 12:30pm. Join us at the Air Zoo to learn more about a new partnership between these Southwest Michigan cultural institutions.

This Sunday, April 13th at 3pm, the Gilmore Car Museum’s Spring Speakers Series highlights these two Presidential visits with Lincoln scholar Tom George and former Kalamazoo Central principal Von Washington, Jr. During their lecture, you’ll learn of new research and discoveries into President Lincoln’s visit and hear fascinating behind-the-scenes stories and little-known facts about President Obama’s visit.
