Welcome to the Gilmore Car Museum Automotive Research Library.

We are here to provide assistance with research on the history of the automobile in America and American automobiles. We have a growing collection of materials from the very beginning of the Automobile in America to the present. The collection has over 300,000 items at the present time with more being added on a daily basis.
The materials range from motoring magazines to shop manuals, owner’s manuals, parts books, service bulletins, sales brochures, general reference works and club publications. We also have a fine collection of automotive related advertising.
Like any collection the Gilmore Car Museum Library is a work in progress and we are always looking for donations of many more materials to fill in the gaps we may have in our various collections.
Specific needs include early automotive magazines such as Horseless Age and Automobile Topics, early Dykes manuals, owner’s manuals, shop manuals for many makes and models, both car and truck, service and sales bulletins. And any other type of factory issued materials.
Currently the library is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday during normal museum hours for research in person.
