The Museum is open Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 5.p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. We will be closed on Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day. Museum hours are subject to change, please see our Plan Your Visit page for the most up-to-date information.

 

The Historic Campus and outer buildings will be open seasonally, April 1st – November 30th. The Automotive Heritage Center and immediate, connecting galleries will be open all year around.

 

Admission to the Museum is based on an individual, daily rate. Please visit our Admissions page for more details.

From Grand Rapids: 50 minutes along US-131S
From Lansing: 1 hour 15 minutes along I-69S
From South Haven: (the lakeshore): 1 hour 20 minutes along M-43E
From Detroit: 2 hours and 20 minutes along I-94W
From Chicago: 2 hours 30 minutes along I-94E

 

The Library and Research Facility is open to the general public Monday – Thursday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. To make a specific appointment, please contact Museum Librarian, Richard Bowman, at 269-671-5089 Ext. 22 or by emailing library@GilmoreCarMuseum.org.

 

Yes, the museum is handicap accessible. There are two galleries located on the second floor, both of which can be accessed by large ramps. The museum also has wheelchairs available for those who may need assistance; please ask one of our Gift Store attendants upon your arrival.

 

Yes, cameras are strongly encouraged in all buildings and galleries!

 

Yes, the Museum has a parking area, located in front of the Automotive Heritage Center, specifically designated for RVs, motorhomes and tour buses that is designed to comfortably fit six semi tractor-trailer rigs with easy access both in and out. For those that arrive during our weekend shows, we open our 90-acre site to accommodate over flow for tow vehicles, RVs and etc.

 

Yes, the Museum offers primitive camping for those who wish to plan an extended visit. Camping is $15.00 per night and you must register upon arrival at our Gift Shop. Admission is not included in the camping fees.

 

Yes, please visit our Accommodations page for lodging near the Museum.

 

Yes, animals are allowed outside on the Museum grounds, they are not permitted in any building or gallery. Animals must be on a leash at all times and owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pet.

Yes, the Museum offers education tours to student groups for FREE! If you would like to arrange a student tour, lead by a member of our Educational Staff, please contact Education Director, Fred Colgren at 269-617-5089 Ext. 21 or by emailing education@GilmoreCarMuseum.org.

 

Yes, the Museum has the ability to host an array of special events and corporate meetings. For more information, please contact our Events Coordinator, Betsy Gesmundo, at 269-671-5089 Ext. 12 or by emailing events@GilmoreCarMuseum.org in regards to utilizing our facility.

 

For more information in regards to donating or loaning items to the Museum, please contact our Collections Registrar, Jay Follis, at 269-671-5089 Ext. 13 or by emailing jfollis@GilmoreCarMuseum.org. All items are subject to undergo a review by our collections committee before a final decision is made about accepting any artifact.
